In this project, we intend to develop a cardiovascular flow test rig to study flow through aneurysms, stenosis, bifurcations etc. and model the flow problem using a Matlab based model. Various engineering aspects of the cardiac flow field and the vascular flow field ranging from fluid mechanical aspects of a non-newtonian pulsatile flow in a compliant and / or elastic brancing piping system, lumped parameter modeling of the flow network using electrical analogues and DIP and DSP aspects of biomedical image filtering and restoration will be attempted.
