Budhaditya Mukherjee is an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and PI of the Infectious Diseases and Immunology Lab. IDI lab primarily works with several aspects of intracellular protozoan infection using Leishmania, Plasmodium, and Toxoplasma as the model system. Budhaditya Mukherjee did his Ph.D. from the Division of Infectious Disease at the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (2014). Before joining IIT Kharagpur, in June 2019, he worked as Post Doctoral Associate in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology, at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA, and at the Department of Microbiology & Molecular Medicine, University of Geneva, Switzerland from 2015-2019. Throughout his career, he has received several awards including EMBO Post Doctoral Fellowship, Pfizer Award, and INSA Medal for Young Scientists to name a few. He has also performed collaborative work with UCB Cellltech (UK), a branch of UCB Pharma S.A & Medicines for Malaria from March 2017-December, 2018. He has been nominated as a member of the Indian National Young Academy of Sciences in 2023 and is a member of the American Society for Microbiology and Society of Biological Chemists, India.
